Chelmer Valley Car Meet

Fourth International Cypress Rally

Last April a group of 14 Chelmer Valley car Meet members took part in this year’s rally tour arranged by Colin Moles.

The 8 day trip was packed with different activities every day from visiting historical sites to learning how to become a navigator or rally driver for the first time.

The classic cars loaned to us by a local car club (can’t see that happening in U.K)! were used for a scenic drive and then for a driving test round a circuit. The second day everyone participated in the rally itself, in which 40 classic cars took part. Everyone had a good time and some our group got really high scores.

The classic car theme continued throughout the week with visits to a classic car museum, restoration workshops and private collections. We also went to a tank Museum and crossed over to the South to a motorbike Museum there.

We saw some fascinating historical sites and of the course the wild flowers set the countryside ablaze with colour. Every night we met up to enjoy local food in several different locations.
